When talking about the I Ching (Book of Changes), many people may relate it to fortune telling, but in fact, I Ching is a Chinese classic, a literature with fundamental principles covering many disciplines including as medicine, cosmology, natural science, social science, art and even life philosophy.  There are no absolute good or bad meanings in the sixty-four hexagrams. They only talk about the root of change between people and the environment which is constantly changing. As philosophical reference, it advises us in knowing how to change our perspectives according to different circumstances.  Perhaps we should not be too adamant towards human affairs in our life.  Different mindset and situation at different times and places varied wide since perpetual change is inevitable.

The last hexagram 64 “Before Completion”.  It is said that the water and fire are not compatible when being put together since the two elements do not mixed. This can be a stern warning, suggesting that people should be careful when acting. Although things have not been done at this stage, we may learn to enjoy the process and accept the possibility of change. The so-called Hope is under that silver lining.  Things in life might not always turn out the way we wish, the wisdom of this hexagram urges that we could overcome negativities as long as we try our best, with hope.

The Book of Changes is a collection of ancient wisdom of sages, a profound yet valuable Chinese classics. This “易圖思 mInd CHangING” mindfulness coloring book introduces a simple coloring as a meditative mindful practice to learn those wisdoms.  It helps us to relieve daily negative emotions and stress while coloring and doodling at the same time.
